If you have a camera, video camera or a cell phone, they all have Secure Digital cards that hold a variety of things such as videos, music, photos and other files that are of importance to you. These cards come in sizes 1 gigabyte up to 2 terabytes. These files more than likely will need to be transferred from your SD card to DVD because even though the cards are convenient often you want them on something more permanent.
So, despite their convenience, these small storage devices are small enough to get lost or you could accidentally erase files before you get them stored more permanently. So if you want to transfer them to your computer or burn them, you will need to know how to do so, if you do not know already.
So, if you have not done this before, no worries, you do not even have to be a person that is tech savvy to be able to do this. There is no reason to feel intimidated about this or be afraid that you might accidentally erase your important information. The transferring of this information to your DVD is easy and quick to do and you should not have problems doing it.
First take a blank DVD and put it in your DVD drive. Then take the SD memory card out of your device and put it in the computer memory storage reader. Most of the current computers will have readers built in. If not, you will need an external memory reader to transfer your information. Whichever you have, take your memory card and put it in the reader,
Once you are finished doing these two things you next will need to go to the bottom left hand corner of your monitor and click on the Start option on the computer to open up the menu. There you will see a list of things and click on the word Computer.
Once you have done this you will now need to make sure that you double click on the icon for SD cards. This will be found in the Devices With Removable Storage in order to see the files that are stored on your portable device.
After that, look at all the files and decide which ones to transfer. Hold down your Control key and take your mouse and click all the files that you are going to transfer. After you have highlighted them all then use your mouse to right click on any file that is highlighted and then a menu will come up and just click on the word Copy from the list.
Once you are done here, click on the Back button so you can get back to your Computer menu. Once back there just right click on the DVD icon for the DVD drive and then simply click on Paste from the pop up menu. Your computer then will do all the work by transferring all the files that you highlighted earlier. Burn the information from the SD card to DVD and you are done.
